How to forage for wild edibles- Ep.1

Wild food foraging - How to get started

There are food and medicine plants everywhere you look.
Here in Australia, we have the great knowledge of Aboriginal people who live in a sustainable and mutually beneficial system based on kinship and looking after resources. But we also have knowledge from all over the world from two centuries of migrants, with the plants related to that knowledge living amongst us.

I teach foraging skills because by providing people with the skill to see value in their neighbourhood I hopefully instigate care for resources.
I believe caring for our surroundings is everyone’s responsibility and obligation.

When you realise that some amazing flavours and incredible medicine can be experienced from taking care of your surrounding, the obligation is no longer a chore, but rather a pleasure.

For the next four weeks, I will share a series of video produced with the amazing folks at Wolktolk, follow them to see this and more stories about sustainability and small empowering steps for everyone towards a sustainable future, resilient and in harmony with all living creatures.

In this first video, we will look at wild fennel, nasturtium, african olives.

Enjoy!
